Creative arts form an important part of our curriculum and include arts & crafts, music, dance, role-play, and creative storytelling.

Our carefully thought-through and intentionally designed learning environment, age-appropriate activities, and structured guidance provided by our teachers offer opportunities for exploration and personal expression. We encourage active engagement, collaboration, and reflection to maximise the cognitive benefits and foster holistic development in children in several ways:

  1. Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Engaging in creative arts involves critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Children are encouraged to make decisions, explore possibilities, and find solutions when creating artwork or participating in dramatic play. They learn to think flexibly, adapt their ideas, and overcome challenges.
  2. Memory and Recall: Creative arts require children to remember information, such as steps in a dance routine, lines in a play, or musical notes in a song. Practising and recalling these details enhance memory skills, improves concentration, and boosts overall cognitive functioning.
  3. Spatial Reasoning: Visual arts and crafts involve spatial reasoning as children manipulate materials, create compositions, and understand proportions. Drawing, painting, sculpting, and building with blocks or other art supplies develop spatial awareness, visualisation abilities, and geometric understanding.
  4. Language and Communication Skills: Engaging in creative arts nurtures language and communication skills. Children enhance their vocabulary, language expression, and verbal communication abilities through storytelling, creative writing, and dramatic play. They learn to express emotions, describe visual elements, and engage in dialogue, promoting language development and communication fluency.
  5. Imaginative Thinking and Creativity: When children engage in artistic expression or imaginative play, they develop divergent thinking skills, exploring multiple possibilities and generating original ideas.
  6. Emotional and Social Intelligence: Creative arts provide a platform for emotional expression and social interaction. Children use art, music, or drama to express their emotions, explore different perspectives, and understand the emotions of others. This supports the development of emotional intelligence and empathy, enhancing social cognition and interpersonal skills.
  7. Cultural Awareness and Appreciation: Engaging in creative arts exposes children to various cultural expressions, traditions, and artistic styles. They learn to appreciate and respect diverse perspectives, aesthetics, and artistic heritage. This fosters cultural awareness, tolerance and broadens their worldview.
