DISCOVERERSLiberté Pre-School & Crèche

Babies 4 months - 18 months

Our approach to infant education focuses on creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment that respects each child’s individuality and fosters their natural cognitive and physical development. We aim to promote independence, sensory exploration, language development, movement, and social interaction during this formative stage of life when babies undergo remarkable cognitive development.

Our baby class is a carefully prepared learning environment that promotes exploration, independence, and freedom of movement. It includes developmentally appropriate activities and materials to enhance their cognitive development and safe, open spaces for infants to move and engage with their teachers, peers, older children and surroundings.

DISCOVERERSCurriculum Goals for Infants

We implement the AMI Montessori curriculum via our cognitive science-based approach to education.

Our approach emphasises the importance of the interactions between the infant, the teacher and other babies.  Teachers act as guides, role models, and facilitators of early experiences, laying the foundation for their lifelong learning and development.

Fine Motor Skills and Practical Life Activities
Babies engage in purposeful activities such as grasping and manipulating objects, posting items into containers, or practising simple self-help tasks like holding a cup or spoon, promoting hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and independence.
Outdoor Exploration
Babies explore outdoor environments when weather permits, connecting with nature and experiencing the natural world firsthand. Outdoor activities provide sensory stimulation, promote gross motor development, and encourage an appreciation for the environment.
Sensorial Development
The curriculum for babies emphasises sensory experiences. The environment includes materials that stimulate the senses, such as mobiles, tactile objects, and sound-making toys. These materials promote sensory exploration and help babies refine their senses and develop cognitive skills.
Language Development
Teachers provide a language-rich atmosphere by talking, singing, and engaging in meaningful conversations with babies. They use proper vocabulary and clear speech to facilitate language acquisition
Social Interaction
Liberté recognises the importance of social interaction, even among very young children. Infants have opportunities for gentle socialisation, such as observing and imitating others, participating in group activities, and engaging in parallel play alongside their peers.
Movement and Gross Motor Skills
We provide ample space for crawling, rolling, and other movements to support babies' gross motor development. Low shelves and soft mats encourage babies to move and explore, while our kinderkinetics programme offers opportunities to refine these skills.

Child-centred education for children ages 4 months to 6 years.
